Dove Olivia Cameron is an American singer and actress who has been cast as Mal in the Descendants film series.
The actress rose to prominence after portraying both Liv and Maddie in the Disney Channel comedy series. She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in Children’s Programming. Additionally, In 2022, Dove also appeared in the comedy-thriller Vengeance.

Why Did Dove Cameron Wear A Wig In Descendants?
We all sure noticed some change in the appearance of Dove Cameron in the descendants. The transformation was nothing other than her hair. In the movie, we can see the vibrant purple hair.
According to IMDb, Dove Cameron couldn’t color her hair because Liv and Maddie’s second season in 2013 was being recorded at the same time as the musical/fantasy movie, Descendants, so she had to wear a purple wig to play her role. Another actress, Sofia Carson, faced the same problem, using a wig to cover her natural hair.
The 22-year-old actress is now speaking up about her upcoming appearance in Descendants 3 and the process used to make her wigs for the movies.
In practice, creating the wigs from scratch for Mal, Carlos, Evie, and other characters takes months.
In an interview, Dove recently spoke with J-14 and explained, “What they do is create a shape of your head, and these wigs take months to make. However, I did everything to recreate the “Descendants 2’s” style.
The actress continues, “They asked me for my opinion after creating a huge, wild purple wig from scratch, she continues. I displayed a photo of a female with long, straight hair and harsh bangs.”
She was ok with everything about the wig except the vibrant colors. Dove states, “I didn’t like that it was lighter,” admitting that she was aware that some fans might mistake the lighter purple for pink.

Dove Cameron Has A Natural Blonde Hair
Dove Cameron has beautiful natural blonde hair. But along with the different roles, she has dyed her hair in many different colors.
Dove Cameron went darker in the winter as recommended by hairstylists all across the world. The Descendants actress showed up at a gala in Los Angeles this past weekend wearing Gucci and sporting shiny, dark brown hair.
Cameron’s hairstylist Clayton Hawkins and colorist Matt Rez turned her into a brunette beauty for the occasion.
Even though Cameron will always be remembered as an iconic blonde, this is not the first time she has switched her hair color. Cameron posted a picture of herself at a recording studio headset in a tight, low bun or ponytail in March 2021 while wearing no makeup.

The Boyfriend singer admitted that she is pretty strict about her skincare routine. “My skin varies a lot in every location I’m in,” I said. I’m ready for the skin apocalypse, she continued. Dove Cameron is currently single. Her most recent relationship was with Thomas Doherty.
