| Quote | |
|---|---|
| 1 | When I first started out, even on TV-am (Good Morning Britain (1983)), we didn’t have the internet or mobile phones. When we did a story it would probably be the first time you’d see it on air, because you didn’t have 24-hour rolling news. |
| 2 | I think I’ve got the best job on TV – it covers everything from the latest on the crisis in Syria to Kim Kardashian’s (Kim Kardashian West) bottom! |
| 3 | I was beside myself when I interviewed Oprah (Oprah Winfrey). I was really hoping, “Please, please be this amazing, inspirational woman”, and she was. I was so happy. |
| 4 | I’ve never interviewed David Bowie and I don’t think I could. I would just be too hyper! And I still get really excited about all the Eighties bands that come on the show. A lot of my team are a good bit younger than me, and they don’t understand why I’m going “Oh my God, it’s Spandau Ballet!” I’m, like, “You’re kids, you know nothing!” |
| 5 | [on her OBE] I consider myself very lucky to be able to help some amazing charities who really make a difference, but I am only a very, very small part of what they achieve. |

| 4 | With her Hollywood-based showbiz cohort, Nelson Aspen, Lorraine presented “OILA” Awards for the most outrageous stories…”Only In L.A.” These included “Pec implants for Men,” “celebrity slumber parties,” “talking toilet paper rolls,” “Personal Trainers for Pooch,” and “Fairy School.”. |
| 5 | In the 1980s future husband Steve Smith was the electrician with the Scottish camera crew used by Kelly for her regional reports. When both Cameraman and Sound man were sacked during the TV-am ACTT dispute in 1988, Smith assumed the role of cameraman. |
