Northwell Health officials have written to share the tragic news that a Northwell team member was shot and died in a public parking garage at 1999 Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park, where Northwell Health is a tenant, late this afternoon in an apparent domestic conflict.
Her family may not have received word of her death until now, and they may be saddened to learn that she was taken from them at such a young age.
Laguerre is said to be the mother of six children, implying that she is married; however, the identity of her spouse has yet to be revealed.

Amelia Laguerre from Queens’ St. Albans was discovered shot in North New Hyde Park.
According to the Nassau County Police Department, arriving authorities saw Laguerre with several gunshot wounds being treated by local medical personnel from the prison.
Laguerre was taken to a nearby hospital, where a hospital physician pronounced her dead, according to officials.
“Northwell is offering counseling services to team members at the scene and mourns the terrible loss of our colleague and team member,” the company said in a statement.
During a press conference, a Nassau County police captain stated that Laguerre was shot five times by someone waiting for her in the garage.
He described the incident as a targeted attack and said the perpetrator is still on the loose.
As per a Twitter tweet, her mother implied that she had a falling out with an ex-boyfriend; however, no official news has been issued.
