Michael is from Waimea, Hawaii, where he was raised and pursued his primary education. He studied at Hawaii Preparatory Academy from 2014 to 2018.
During his last year at the Academy, Michael worked as a Camera Assistant at Great Divide Pictures where he worked alongside Hawaii’s National Parks Service from May 2017 to January 2018. Following graduation, the boy volunteered to teach English as a Second Language in Bali, Indonesia from October to December 2018.
His volunteering was part of a gap year program called Year On, where he was a fellow from October 2018 to May 2019. Aside from volunteering, he also worked as a photographer and videographer to beef up his portfolio alongside attending workshop classes.

Lizzy and Michael have been dating since November 2022. Lizzy officially confirmed the relationship through her music video Ceilings.
The singer had a long drawn out reveal for her relationship with her lover, Michael, which started with a “soft launch” on her Instagram account. On December 22, 2022, Lizzy made a post on Instagram where she shared three photos of her and Michael.
With a caption stating “Officially launching king of softly,” she shared a carousel post with three pictures. The first was a mirror selfie with the two of them embraced but their faces are obscured by an overhead lamp, the second was their shadows while they were walking holding hands, and the third was a driver’s license with a picture of the two kissing, with Michael’s face obscured with white, pink, and red hearts.
The third picture, the driver’s license, had a date of 11/29/2022, which many assume is the date they started dating. The comments for the post were rapturous as many rightfully assumed that McAlpine was gearing up to show off her boyfriend.
