Himesh Patel Biography

Himesh Patel, born Himesh Jitendra Patel is an actor from England. He is best known for his role as Tamwar Masood in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, a role he played from 2007 to 2016.

Himesh Patel Career

He started his acting career playing the role of Tamwar Masood in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. His debut appearance was in the episode shown on the 1st of October in 2007. He also appears as Tamwar in the 2010 spin-off series EastEnders: E20. In addition, he co-wrote an episode of EastEnders: E20 with EastEnders co-star Charlie G. Hawkins. On the 12th of March in 2016, his departure from EastEnders was announced to the general public.

Himesh played the role of social worker Nitin in British Channel 4 sitcom, Damned. He held this role from 2016 to 2018. He is a member of the National Youth Theatre. In 2014, Patel starred in the short film Two Dosas where he played the role of Pavan.

Patel is set to appear in the upcoming 2019 independent biographical action-adventure film, The Aeronauts. Himesh has just finished filming a BBC series, The Luminaries which is set during New Zealand’s 1860s gold rush. The Luminaries is a mini-series based on the 2013 book by Eleanor Catton although the is different from the book. He is cast as Emery Staines. He is a published author who have contributed to an essay on race and television and the “generic representation of a South Asian family” and a 2016 collection titled The Good Immigrant.

Patel is starring in the upcoming 2019 British musical comedy film Yesterday, directed by Danny Boyle.

Himesh film breakthrough debut with the role of Jack Malik in the film, Yesterday. Patel sings throughout the film and covers various songs by The Beatles.  Jack Malik, the character is in accident and when he wakes up, he realizes that his front teeth have been knocked out. The alterations of Jack Malik teeth is done courtesy of the excellent Fangs FX who specializes in teeth and facial prosthetics. Fangs FX did a great job in tricking the audience of Yesterday. They were also part of productions as Avengers: Age of Ultron, Batman Begins, Skyfall, Guardians of the Galaxy and even the Harry Potter movies.

Yesterday is an upcoming 2019 British musical comedy film. The film is directed by Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis, from a story by Jack Barth. Himesh Patel stars in the film playing the role of a guitarist who realizes he is the only person who remembers the Beatles. He becomes famous plagiarising their songs. Lily James, Kate McKinnon, and Ed Sheeran also star in the film.

On the 4th of May in 2019, the film is set to have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. On the 28th of June in 2019, the film is set to be released by Universal Pictures.
