After the months-long dispute, Ankiti Bose, the co-founder and Chief Executive of Singapore-based B2B e-commerce startup Zilingo, was fired on May 20 over suspected financial irregularities.
In 2015, Bose cofounded Zilingo with Dhruv Kapoor and was recognized as one of the most promising female founders in the digital startup world. Following allegations of accounting irregularities, CEO Bose was suspended on March 31.
An independent forensics firm was hired to look at reports of major financial irregularities. However, the business did not go into detail about the charges against Bose or the audit results.
Net Worth of Zilingo CEO Ankiti Bose? Her Earnings and Wealth
Ankit Bose’s estimated net worth as a businesswoman is estimated to be around $5 million. She is considered one of the most successful young businesswomen. While her specific pay is unknown, she was the first Indian woman to co-found a firm with a $1 billion value.
According to people familiar with the situation, Zilingo works with thousands of apparel manufacturers and merchants in South and Southeast Asia, connecting them to stores all over the world, and was valued at over $1 billion in its most recent funding round in 2019.
With the support of major investors, the board of directors suspended Ankiti Bose, the company’s CEO, and co-founder, in March, awaiting the results of an independent inquiry they commissioned.
The co-founder has been at odds with the board of directors and a key Zilingo investor, Sequoia Capital India, over possible accounting violations. The allegations of impropriety have been denied by Bose.
In a second statement to Bloomberg News, Bose stated that her position was terminated due to insubordination.
Who Are Ankiti Bose Parents?
Ankiti Bose is the only child of her parents. She was born and raised in India, where her father’s work as an engineer for a state-owned oil business required the family to move frequently. As a kid, Ankiti was exposed to other cultures and languages.
Her mother, on the other hand, gave up her job as a university lecturer to dedicate her time to teaching her one and only child at home. Moreover, Bose’s supportive and loving parents must have encouraged Ankiti to pursue her passions in her career choices.
