Yul Chibuike Daniel Edochie is a Nigerian actor, named after popular Russian actor Yul Brynner. Also, he has been in other movies like Moms At War, among many other more.

Yul Chibuike Daniel Edochie was born on 7 January 1982 in Lagos and raised in Enugu. As of 2019, Yul is 37 years old. He celebrates his birthday on every 7th January of every year.

Yul Edochie Parents

He is the son of Pete Edochie and Josphine Edochie. Pete Edochie is a famous actress. Most people confuse Rita Edochie to be her mother. However, Rita Edochie is his uncle’s wife Tony Edochie. Yul is the last of his 5 siblings. Linc Edochie is one of his siblings. The rest of the siblings are far away from media sources. Linc Edochie is still a Nigerian actor.

Among the five siblings, four are brothers while one is a sister.

The famous actor happens to have broken many hearts of young girls after mentioning his marriage. He announced he was getting engaged and marrying May Aligwe. The two had dated for 6 years before marriage. At the time of their marriage, Yul was only 22 years old. He had just gained admission to the University of Port Harcourt. The two got married in 2004.

Yul Edochie and Steven Ugochukwu

In 2015, Yul got engaged in a gay scandal that really stabbed his career. He took to Twitter to tell the world about a gay man who was disturbing him. It was on 7th April 2015, when Yul shared on twitter details of Steven Ugochukwu, gay, who wouldn’t let him be. However, Steven opened up so many details and also evidences on Instagram to make his point valid. He stood on the grounds that they had been having a relationship for long and sharing messages. On the other side, Yul said they met through Facebook and Steven had demanded to be his gay partner.

Steven shared with the Saturday Beats information on how they met through mails. Also, he sent screenshots of their conversation. The alleged gay stalker added that they had a discreet sexual relationship. Ugochukwu told Saturday Beats that he and Edochie were in a relationship for about a year and a half. He said that they had intimate discussions over the telephone. The relationship went sour because he refused to send the pictures of his manhood after I sent mine. When he refused, I kept calling his line and he started changing his numbers. But later, he told me he didn’t want to send it to me because of his colleagues.

Yul Edochie Education

He attended Lillians’ Day Nursery School and Robinson Street Primary School, Enugu between 1984 and 1992. His secondary education started from 1992 to 1998. In those 6 years, he went to Marist Brothers’ Juniorate, Uturu Secondary School, Ecumenical Community Secondary School, and New Haven Boys Secondary School respectively. He attended the University of Port Harcourt, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts.

Yul Edochie Acting

He joined Nollywood in 2005 in his first film titled “The Acquires” alongside the Late Justus Esiri and Enebeli Elebuwa. He got his break in 2007. It was after featuring alongside Genevieve Nnaji and Desmond Elliot in the movie “Wind Of Glory”. Among other actors and his father, Yul has mentioned others to be his role models. These include people like Ramsey Noah, Jim Iyke, Emeka Ike, and Mike Ezuruonye among many others. Also, Al Pacino and Robert Deniro are among Hollywood icons to Yul.

Yul Edochie Academy

He launched his own Academy in 2015. It was a subsidiary of Yul Edochie Arts World. The academy was founded in 2015 and also established in the same year. Yul had a vision for the Academy to build an army of well-grounded, focused and professional actors and actresses. Edochie plans to work as the mentor to steer them to greatness. Apart from that, the academy gives talented people the opportunity to be introduced to the Nigerian Film industry.

Yul Edochie celebrates veteran actor, Sam Dede

Actor, Yul Edochie has celebrated veteran actor, Sam Dede for impacting his life as his lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Edochie took to his Instagram page on Saturday morning to pour encomium on Dede.

He wrote: “Today, I want to celebrate this great man, Uncle Sam Dede. He was my lecturer in school, University of Port Harcourt, Theatre Arts Department, 98-2003, he taught us acting.

“His impact on my life is enormous. He taught me so much as an actor. We all wanted to be like him. He was like a father to us. He always told us that the best way we could make him proud is to succeed in Nollywood.

“Daddy I may not have kept in touch much, I know say I no dey hear a word, but I have not forgotten you till this day, a great part of you still lives in me. I hope I have made you proud. Thank you, sir. God bless you.”

Sam Dede is a Nigerian actor, director, politician and lecturer, born in 1965. He lectures at the University of Port Harcourt. Dede hails from Rivers State, Nigeria.

In 2005, Dede won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. He is the current Director-General of the Rivers State Tourism Development Agency.
