The legal battles against the embattled Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General, Sossion, have come to an end after parties withdrew the case against him. Teachers Service Commission (TSC) who were among parties in the case agreed to retain Sossion and end the legal battles that were before Justice Maureen Onyango.

Sossion was born in 1969.

Sossion was born to Domoita from Pokot County, from Tulin clan. They moved from Tarta to Bomet in a early 1970s.

Sossion lost his first wife in 2010, through an Accident. Later, he re-married in a private function at the attorney general’s office on Thursday, April 28th, 2016. He wedded his lover Vivianne Kenduiywa.

He is a father of Three. In December 2017 surprised his first-born daughter Rosemary Chepkorir with a new car on her graduation from the University of Nairobi.  Rosemary was among those students who graduated with a law degree from the University.

Mr. Sossion who has acted the role of both father and mother to his daughter after he lost his first wife in a road crash could not hide his joy as he handed the car keys to the Chepkorir.

“She is the heart of my family, who has been able to make me a happy man even when raising my children. This is a motivation to all parents,” said Mr. Sossion.

There were claims that Sossion earns Ksh 940,000 with no allowances per month in a payslip that was circulating on social media platforms. Sossion however, denied the claim that union officials earn almost Sh1 million a month.

He said nobody in the organization receives a basic salary of above Sh200,000 and said that the payslip that was circulating had been cooked up by a senior adviser at the Office of the President.

It took Kenya National Union of Teachers Secretary General Wilson Sossion 20 years to clear a loan he received as a student back in the day. Sossion cleared the loan after he paid a lump sum of Sh85,654, which had been outstanding since he graduated from Egerton University in 1993.

In a statement, Helb confirmed that indeed Mr Sossion had indeed cleared his outstanding loan.“We kept in touch with the outspoken Knut boss to ensure he pays his loan for other needy students to also benefit from the facility,” Helb chief executive Charles Ringera said in a statement.

AS it stands, there are 85,364 loan defaulters who the agency is pursuing. These owe Helb Sh9.7 billion.Sossion benefited from the financier while pursuing a diploma in education at Egerton University in the 90s.It however emerged that Session had no idea he owed Helb money until he applied for a loan, only to be told that he had been listed by credit
reference bureaus as a defaulter. This prompted him into action.
