Robert Downey Jr.’s Wife
Robert Downey Jr. has been married to Susan Downey for just over 10 years now. Impressive as it is, since a ten-year marriage in Hollywood equals a thirty-year marriage in the real world, he had been married once before and that marriage lasted twelve years.
Since we are meeting his current wife, we might as well meet our first wife to get a full picture of Robert’s love life.

Wife of Robert Downey Jr.; Deborah Falconer
Robert and Deborah got married in 1992 and their union ended in 2004. It’s certainly no mystery why the relationship didn’t work out considering Robert had a dark history of drug addiction. The pair got married 42 days after they met and managed to stay married for 12 years.
Shortly after hitching, the star bought a large house in Malibu and her first son, Indio, was born the following year. You’d think having a wife and son would force the star to put her house in order, but Downey’s case was quite the opposite.
By 1996 his drug addiction had increased, he graduated from cannabis, cocaine and alcohol to heroin. At that point, Deborah decided she had to leave him, she couldn’t handle her “epic tantrums” anymore. It was not the end of their marriage, however, Falconer continued to defy him through his arrest, imprisonment and release in 2000.
After his release, the star still hasn’t cleaned up the Salvation Act and if she was desperate for it to be clean, that was the last straw. She packed up, took her son with her, and filed for divorce. Although the divorce wasn’t finalized until 2004, it was the end of the road for the couple.
Deborah Falconer is currently a musician, but she started performing back in the day and currently has 3 studio albums under her belt.

Most of the time life makes you want to do, you just make the choice to use it wisely and that’s what Downey did with his. When the couple first met, Susan thought he was weird. We believe those are his exact words.
“We were in Montreal prepping for Gothika and had lunch with the manager and HalleBerry, everyone ordered in Japanese, but Robert told us how oatmeal was a ‘superfood’, he brought her own oatmeal packets for lunch. And he had this box of various herbs and things. And then he started doing these yoga moves. I mean, he was interesting but weird. ‘
Shortly after this meeting, he reunited with Susan on the set of Gothika, and three months later he asked her to marry him. It was certainly sudden, but it was an improvement from the 42 days he had waited before being hitched the first time. In fact, at the time, he was still married to Falconer.
Anyway, Susan finally agreed, but she first posed By law, the engagement was going to be long (2 years) and he was going to be completely clean during that time. The two eventually got married in 2005 and have been providing us with relationship goals ever since.

His first son, Indio Falconer was born on September 7, 1993 is basically a chip off the old block. The 23-year-old didn’t have the luxury of having a normal childhood and it probably happened to him. Indio, a band member (The Seems), inherited his father’s drug abuser.
On March 12, 2016, his father congratulated him on completing a 20-month rehabilitation program. Hopefully his road to recovery won’t be as bumpy as his father’s.
Then we have the grandchildren, Rob’s second son, Exton Elias Downey, was born on February 7, 2012 and his granddaughter, Avril Roel Downing, was born on November 4, 2014.
It’s amazing how he gets a second chance in every way; a second chance with his career, his love life and a second chance to be there for his children.
