Why Martin Did Manley Die? Sports Bloggers Left A Suicide Blog On His Website- What Did He Say?

Martin Manley, a 60-year-old blogger, and former Kansas City Star sportswriter, passed away in August 2013.

In 2012, Martin left the publication to start his own sports blog. Manley was well-known for his love of statistics, and he invented a basketball statistic known as the efficiency rating, which is still in use today.

According to Business Insider, Manley launched a website in 2013 where he wrote about his decision to end his life.

Obituary About Martin Manley Death And Why He Died?

Martin Manley claims that he is not affected by any of the “major reasons adults commit suicide.” However, he cites looming economic collapse, increased global suffering, and the challenges of old age to be the reasons behind his step.

Manley stated that he did not want to die alone and by himself, nor did he want to pass away from old age. Being unable to do anything for years and dying alone was not what he wanted to experience. So, he decided to take the bold step to move on from this life.

In 2012, the blogger left the Star to launch his own sports blog. Before he left, he invented the efficiency rating, a basketball statistic that is still used today.

On his 60th birthday, Martin committed suicide. More than 100 people commit suicide in the United States every day, and a significant number of them leave notes for their bereaved friends and family.

Some are vengeful, some are apologetic, and some are perplexingly cryptic. Regardless, the majority are only read by a small group of authorities and loved ones.

Confronting friends and family about his death wasn’t enough for Manley. He desired to face the general public. He desperately wanted to justify his own life and death to the world, perhaps most importantly to himself.

Suicide Blog On Martin Manley’s Website Has TikTok In Shock

Many TikTok users were shocked by the resurfaced story, and many shared their thoughts in the comments section below the video.

“Yeah, I’m sure I’d love to be traumatized at work even more than I already am,” one person wrote.

According to his website, Martin Manley pre-paid Yahoo for five years of Web hosting, created a sprawling suicide website, and posted one final post on his sports blog Thursday morning linking to it.

According to the Kansas City Star, he committed suicide in front of an Overland Park police station. His 60th birthday had arrived.

On the website, which quickly went viral on social media, he stated that he wanted to create the most detailed description of a suicide letter in history. Next, he began to explain his suicide, attempting, at first, to portray it as a highly rational decision made by a man who lived his life “content up to the last minute” and wanted to leave the world in his way.

Manley’s primary motivation for committing suicide was fear of old age.

Sports Blogger Martin Manley Story Viral On TikTok

Martin Manley’s tragic story has captivated the nation for the past nine years. His story was made public on TikTok after a viral video on the social media platform.

A strange passage in which he posted what appeared to be GPS coordinates to a stash of gold and silver coins, sparking a macabre and ultimately futile treasure hunt on Thursday, reinforces the impression of a man starved for significance.

One of Manley’s motivations for creating a suicide website was to assure everyone that he did not regret his decision. “In the long run, I hope that my life is remembered and that my suicide is just an asterisk, a footnote,” Martin wrote.
