Brazilian influencer and beauty queen Mayara Nito tragically passed away at the age of 27 after leaping from the sixth floor of her apartment building to escape a fire that started in her unit.
The event happened on March 25 in So Paulo’s affluent Itaim Bibi neighborhood. The blaze, which originated inside the apartment, was attacked by 40 firefighters and 14 fire engines.
Even though Maya’s brother, who shared the same apartment, was hospitalized for smoke inhalation, he is said to be in stable health.
Who was Mayara Nitão?
In the world of beauty pageants, Maya was a rising star with about 100,000 Instagram followers. By the start of 2019, she had received nine different awards, including Miss Serto Paraibano in January.
She moved to So Paulo to work as a model and persuaded her brother to follow her so he could carry on with his studies there.
The love of my life is now a star in the sky, and I will always love you, my daughter, César Nito said in a statement following his daughter Maya’s death. Maya will be laid to rest at her native Joo Pessoa, Paraba State.
The tragedy emphasizes the significance of fire safety and the disastrous effects that can occur if the right safeguards are not followed, even though the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
