A VDOT contractor who died after a hit-and-run in an I-81 work zone Tuesday morning was identified as Matthew Frazier of Clinton Forge. The tragic incident happened at mile marker 142 in Roanoke County.
According to the police, the accident occurred at 2:38 a.m. Tuesday after, the worker exited a piece of construction tool that was being loaded on a lowboy trailer. Unfortunately, the worker was hit by the tractor-trailer.
