Who Was Jacob Olanya?
Jacob Olanya was the Speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda from 2021 until his death on 20th March 2022 in Seattle.
Often he was recognized as an agricultural economist, lawyer, and politician.
Preceding the former Speaker Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, he was appointed Deputy Speaker of the Ugandan parliament from 2011 to 2021.
Further, the deceased was also a member of parliament representing the Omoro County constituency, Omoro District, Acholi sub-region, in Uganda’s Northern Region.

Jacob Olanya Wife Winnie Amoo Okot
Jacob was married to Lady Winnie Amoo Okot.
The sacred ritual to abide them as husband and wife took place in 2012 in front of the President in Munyonyo.
And now, despite the end of their relationship, they share two children.
