Gina Gonzalez is a family member of Raul Flores and Brisenia Ylianna, who were murdered in 2009 in Arizona. Their case was also featured on Investigation Discovery.

Raul Flores Jr., 29, and his daughter Brisenia Ylianna Flores, 9, were killed in a home invasion on May 30, 2009, in Arivaca, Arizona.

Shawna Forde, Jason Eugene Bush, and Albert Gaxiola were the perpetrators; they were all part of Forde’s vigilante nativist organization, Minutemen American Defense (MAD).

Gina Gonzalez, the wife and mother of the dead, engaged the intruders in gunfire and wounded Bush, but she managed to escape the attack.

Who Was Gina Gonzalez Family?

Gina Gonzalez had her husband, Raul Flores, and her daughter, Brisenia, in her family, and she was also in the house at the time of the incident and was shot three times.

She feigned to be dead and still lived. Gonzalez dialed 9-1-1 and armed herself with her husband’s revolver when the intruders fled the house.

Gonzalez was on the phone when the intruders returned to the house. Gonzalez engaged them in fire, striking Bush in the leg.

The murderers then ran off. Gonzalez named the attackers as being two guys and a white woman. She named Bush the assassin who killed her husband and children.

Bush’s leg was treated by MAD member Chuck Stonex the day following the murders. Later, Stonex testified for the prosecution at the trial.

It is thought that Albert Robert Gaxiola of Arivaca, Arizona, gave the M.A.D. Information on drug activity in the region.

Info On Gina Gonzalez Death And Murder Case

Gina Gonzalez did her best to provide justice to her daughter and husband after their murder and death trial in court.

At the time of her passing, Brisenia was a third-grader at the Sopori Elementary School in Amado, Arizona. A 12-year-old daughter of the Flores was at her grandmother’s house in Sahuarita at the time of the incident.

Forde’s death sentence was rendered by the jury after much deliberation, according to Angie Thomas. The decision was influenced significantly by a photo of Brisenia displayed during the trial.

Gonzalez claimed that as her daughter begged for her life, she was shot dead in the head. Albert Gaxiola, Forde, and Bush were all found guilty of the killings.

All three attackers were found guilty of murder in 2011. Gaxiola was given a life sentence without the possibility of release, while Forde and Bush received the death penalty.

The case was discussed in the first narrative of the episode “Death Knock” of the Investigation Discovery series Deadly Women. The narrative is recounted from Forde’s perspective, staying true to the program’s title.

What Happened To Gina Gonzalez?

Shawna Forde and her accomplices entered Gina Gonzalez’s residence on the pretense that they were law enforcement officers hunting for fugitives.

The suspects anticipated finding cash and drugs that might be used to pay for Forde’s Minutemen American Defense (MAD), a vigilante nativist organization that patrolled Arizona’s border with Mexico.

When they didn’t find any drugs, the invaders seized some cheap jewelry and shot Raul Flores Jr., 29, and his daughter, Brisenia Ylianna Flores, nine, to death.

Jason Eugene Bush relocated to Sandpoint, Idaho, following his release from prison in 2003 and stayed there until 2007. He may have been involved in two further murders that happened in 1997.

Forde had multiple encounters with the police before being taken into custody for the double homicide. According to court documents, she spent time in juvenile detention centers after receiving many offenses for stealing, burglary, and prostitution.
