Many people wrote messages of condolences and sympathy on his Facebook today, Nov. 21. They are mourning the passing of veteran TV director Bert De Leon.

Bert De Leon was the veteran television director in the local entertainment industry who has sadly passed away.
Bert was best known for being the former director of GMA’s long-running gag show “Bubble Gang,” comedy series “Pepito Manaloto,” noontime variety show “Eat Bulaga,” and the ’90s classic TV series “ Okay ka, Fairy ko.”
Apart from sitting on the director’s chair, he was also known as a musician and music producer.
Direk Bert has passed away due to Covid-19.
He was rushed to hospital in July after suffering a heart attack. He also underwent an angiogram and angioplasty, according to his Instagram post.
In October, some of his friends and co-workers in showbiz led by comedian Michael V. launched a virtual fundraising event for the veteran director’s medical needs after COVID-19 hit him.
The fundraising event benefited the director, but unfortunately, he contracted COVID-19.
He has given us some of the funniest sitcoms on national tv, and he will be dearly missed.
