Quote
Never leave your house unless you’re feeling completely 100 percent. If there’s a piece on you or something you’re wearing that you don’t feel extremely confident in, don’t wear it. Change.
I’m a very free spirit; there are two sides to me, completely. If I could take you into my closet, you’d go, “Yep, you’re right”. It’s split right down the middle. I have just as many sweatshirts as I have sweaters. I have just as many jeans as I have black pants.
[on filming A Killer Among Friends (1992)] We did the killing scene in one day–I was so drained I got back to the hotel and went, “Masseuse!”.
[on her wedding to Brady Smith] It was such a perfect day and a perfect weekend. We had such an amazing time with our friends and our family and seriously, not one thing went wrong. We were very blessed to have everything go so beautifully. Every time I think about it, I get giddy.
Since I started out very young, I definitely knew where he was coming from, and I knew his attention span was probably a lot shorter than us adults. I had to play with that and work with that, but he really did give a beautiful performance.
It’s not uncommon for actors to get involved in the development and production side of the camera. Look at Drew Barrymore and her Flower Films or Sandra Bullock and Fortis Films. The list goes on. Having spent so many years on sets, working with different levels of material and building so many relationships with people, I felt capable and prepared to create a business entity that would allow me to direct and produce while complimenting my acting career. To remain stagnant and only focus on acting would be short-sighted. And, since I love the business and it’s all I’ve ever known, it was a natural progression to start such a company.
Luckily I have a very type-A personality and I’m very observant of my surroundings, I think that’s probably because I’m a woman and because I am an actress. I tend to watch what I do, and like any good actor, you constantly watch your surroundings and you listen to your fellow actors. I think that really helped me. Anytime I was on the set as an actress, I was always that girl who sat next to the camera and was like, “What does that do? What does this do?” And for years and years I was like that, but that was just me being curious. Luckily it paid off in the long run.
I don’t know if I prefer one or the other. I can’t really say, they’re both really challenging, and they’re both really fun.
[on her first producing project, Just Pray (2005)] It’s a very sweet, simple story, It is something that has been very close to my heart for a long time. The hardest part was finally saying yes and committing; it was the producing side that was harder for me, trying to find a company we could trust and produce it with us. Everybody remembers you from your last five minutes, and I don’t think people took me seriously. Being a woman doesn’t help, and having people remember me from the types of shows that I’ve done doesn’t, either. But I never like things to come easy, and this wasn’t.
It was so funny cause like the first time they gave me a gun to shoot they were like, “Do you know how to shoot this?”. And I’m like, “Yeah, my dad taught me when I was 17”. And they’re like, “What!?”. Ya know? So this character is so much like me that it’s actually kinda fun, you know.
[about reading for Woody Allen’s Hollywood Ending (2002)] I’ll never forget that reading; it was an amazing experience. You come into the room and look over and see this amazing genius sitting there, this legend. It was all very exciting, but to this day, I still don’t know what the movie is about. That’s just how Woody works.
My first date ever was actually with my very first boyfriend. We ended up being together for quite awhile, four and a half years. But it was actually with his sister who was quite older – a lot older than him, kind of like a guardian and…my mother, that was my first date and we went to the movies. It was really funny because, you know, they were actually saying ‘we’ll let you sit away from us and we’ll sit back’ and I’m like ‘okay that’s gonna be REALLY strange. So why don’t you just sit with us and we’ll watch the movie and we’ll go home.
When someone can make me laugh from like the inside out, that’s usually when I feel the most happy. And it’s usually coming from my boyfriend, my family and my closest friend.
I mean there’s things I’m embarrassed about, but I don’t think I’m ever ashamed of anything just because my family tried to teach me, when I was young, that I should never be upset or feel bad about the decisions I make, in my life, and that you learn from them and you move on. So I don’t think I can honestly say that I’m ashamed on something. I’ve been embarrassed about certain things, in my life, but never ashamed. We’re all human, you know! We make mistakes, but we learn from them.
[about best friend Jennie Garth] I love her like a sister, I tell her everything.
It’s kind of the same thing with TV and film. I enjoy both! I think they’re both difficult and rewarding in different ways and I would like to keep up with both sides to keep it going.
[on her friendship with Jennie Garth] We have one of those friendships that started long ago, so I’m really thankful for it, and I know I’ll have it for the rest of my life.
I’ve had to struggle with my weight since I was 17. There’s a lot of added pressure because I work with so many beautiful, thin people, and I’ve been asked to lose weight before by producers. It really hurts but that’s part of what this business is about. People expect me to be thin and perfect and I’m not.
I think guys are intimidated by any woman who appears to be strong. Now women are so independent, which I am. But I try to solve that by asking men out. I’m not going to wait.
[on being told to lose weight for a part] If it were right for the role, I’d do it. If it was, “Lose weight just to lose weight”, they’d get a nice “No, thanks”.
What do I wanna do 10 years from now? I love doing TV and I hope I can do it as long as I can. Some day I want to get married and have a family. And I would love to travel. I want to go back to Australia – absolutely.
If I didn’t work out, it’d be a disaster. The weight issue has been a really big thing for me all my life. I come from an overweight family, and in this business, it’s something you simply can’t be. I love eating, but I work out six days a week, usually for an hour and a half.
If you work with Aaron Spelling and he likes you, you’ll always work for Aaron. And believe me, that’s not a bad thing.
I like a man to be romantic, have a sense of humor, independent, definitely and have definite goals for himself.
Jennie Garth is my closest friend.
I’d say I’ve enjoyed every role that I’ve done in my life.
I really don’t look at my life as being an accomplishment. I’m just very thankful for what I’ve been given.
It’s definitely difficult but it’s kind of the price you pay when you’re in this kind of business. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
I always feel that everything you do in life is a learning experience and that you become a wiser person for it.
[about her character on Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990)] I like playing Valerie. She’s a chameleon. One moment she’s charming and the next she’s a you-know-what. I like her because she’s so two-sided–she’s two different characters in one.
It was so much fun going from playing a good girl to a bad girl.
I think people in the entertainment field have no privacy. All the tabloids want to see is a person fail at something.
I’m very grateful for what I have been given and wouldn’t change anything. I feel that we are given everything we have for a reason, both good and bad, and that we learn from them. This is what gives us character.
I really don’t have a career plan. I like being challenged and thrown around. But it’s only acting.
They never let me hold the Barbie, I only got to hold Ken. I guess I wasn’t blonde enough.
Honestly, I enjoy food. And I’m never going to be stick thin like Kate Moss. But I don’t eat like a pig.
The winner never loses, and the loser never wins.
[on the success of Saved by the Bell (1989)] To us, it was this cute little show that was on against a bunch of cartoons on Saturday morning. None of us expected it to last very long. We didn’t realize anything big was happening until our first personal appearance, and then we were shocked out of our minds. We went to a mall and there were 4,000 screaming kids waiting for us. They were tearing off our clothes and begging for the cups of water that we were drinking from. We kept looking at each other in amazement. We had no idea this was happening, and I still don’t understand it.
I just want to keep playing something different each time out.It is the same thing most actors want in their careers; the chance to do a variety of characters. Otherwise, you end up playing the same character over and over again until it gets downright boring. That’s not how I want to spend my life.
[about beauty pageants] I would never do another one but at the time it was fun.
Since I’m into modeling, I know young girls always try to watch their weight and what they look like. And it is important to some extent but . . . I’ve known girls who have gone through a lot of problems with dieting, and it’s not worth it. It’s terrible to think that [in] our society [a woman] has to be tall, skinny and beautiful. It’s really horrible that we have to look like that and it’s not worth it. It really isn’t. I’ve met a lot of beautiful people who don’t have anything inside.
My brother Todd’s been a really big inspiration to me. He’s had a lot of problems, and how he’s come out of it is just amazing. Knowing someone who’s been at the bottom and completely restructured themselves . . . makes me think I could do anything. I have total respect for him.
I’m a very spiritual person and to know that now women are able to do just as much as men is really great . . . Working for myself and being young and being a woman, I can finally get respect from people . . . I mean I’ve got my own house, I’ve got my career set–nobody can tell me I can’t do it.
In this business, you’ve got to take a lot of rejection–and you can’t take it personally. If you’re not chosen, you’re either not ready or not right for it. My mom used to tell me that a quitter never wins, and a winner never quits. And that’s something I’ve always gone by.
I’ve collected pigs since I was really little, miniature pigs and stuff like that.
[on winning Teen Magazine’s “Model Search” in 1988] I was definitely surprised when I won, ’cause that year those girls were absolutely gorgeous.
It’s never really been a hard thing for me for some reason. After the first time, it was, like, no big deal. All the guys on 90210 [Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990)] treat me with total respect. They don’t try anything.
I would love to be totally thin and be able to eat whatever I like, but I don’t have a problem with my body. I like my body. I don’t want to make myself crazy watching my weight.
I love to shop for lingerie! My drawer for my lingerie is probably as big as my drawer for sweats and jeans. It’s really huge.
I was never clean, prissy and perfect like Kelly [her character on Saved by the Bell (1989)], and I was never a pot-smoking slut like Valerie [her character on Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990)]. Kelly was the cheerleader and the perfect girl next door, and being that I grew up in the business, I never went to school. I was never a cheerleader. I never went to the prom. I didn’t have any of those experiences.
I wake up every morning and I’m thankful for what I have. I’ve been blessed with a lot of wonderful things and I try to reflect on that every chance I can.
The weight issues is a huge one that arises almost in every woman. But I don’t think it’s increased, it’s always been there. Since the 1920s women have been encouraged to be thin. But even that is dictated by fashion. It alternates between being really skinny and being healthy.
I’m a pretty big clothes horse. I shop for clothes constantly. I do so much shopping. I should go to Shoppers Anonymous.
When you interact with someone you always take something from them.
It’s much more interesting to play the bitch.
I’ve seen the effects of drugs too often. My brother had a big problem with them for five years. He’s better now, but I’ve never needed or wanted to be involved with them.
My dog and two cats are such a vital part of my life. To say that I am their owner doesn’t reflect at all the profound bond and responsibility that I have towards them. Therefore, I thoroughly support In Defense of Animals’ initiative to utilize ‘guardian’ instead of owner.
People expect me to be thin and perfect… I’m not.
My mom always taught me to be sweet and polite and cross my legs because it’s what the guys like. Actually, they like a raunchy girl once in a while. – being a feminine woman.
There are too many rotten things in this world, and if I can put a smile on one little girl’s face, one little boy’s face, then I’ve done my job. – on acting professionally in show business.

Alonzo Mourning’s net worth, biography, fact, career, awards and life story

Alonzo Mourning Net Worth: Alonzo Mourning is an American retired professional basketball player who has a net worth of $70 million. Mourning spent 15 years playing in the NBA for teams like the Charlotte Hornets, the Miami Heat, and the New Jersey Nets. During that career Alonzo earned around $143 million in salary alone, plus tens of millions from endorsements. Also known simply as “Zo,” Alonzo established himself as a talented center and was famous for his defensive skills. After a brief scare in 2003 that almost caused him to retire due to health concerns, Mourning received a kidney transplant that allowed him to keep playing. After ending his career in 2008, Alonzo became the first-ever player to have his jersey retired by the Heat. In 2014, he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Early Life: Alonzo Harding Mourning Jr. was born on February 8th of 1970 in Chesapeake, Virginia. Alonzo first proved his basketball-playing potential during his high school years. During this period, he earned a number of honors and accolades and led his team to 51 straight victories during his senior year. After graduating from high school, Mourning enrolled at Georgetown University and played basketball under famed coach John Thompson. He quickly became an integral part of the team and led the entire nation in total blocked shots and blocks per game. It was clear that he was a defensive talent, but Alonzo also improved his offensive game while playing college basketball as well. He finished his college career with over 2,000 points and over 1,000 rebounds. He also racked up 453 blocked shots. Career: During the 1992 NBA Draft, Mourning was selected by the Charlotte Hornets and posted the highest scoring average of any rookie in the team’s history during his first season. He also broke records for blocked shots once again, and he was an important part of their playoff campaign. In one game against the Boston Celtics, he scored a 20-foot shot to win the game 104 to 103. Although Alonzo played just as well in the second season, the Hornets missed the playoffs. During the 1994-1995 season, Mourning collaborated with teammates like Larry Johnson to help Charlotte reach the playoffs, although they were eliminated in the first round. The Hornets then offered Alonzo a contract extension with a total worth of just over $11 million over seven years, but he rejected it. This prompted Charlotte to trade him instead, and Mourning joined the Heat in 1995. Alonzo fit perfectly into coach Pat Riley’s plans, and he was offered a seven-year, $105 million contract with the Miami Heat in 1996. Alonzo immediately reached a much later stage in the playoffs with his new team, although they were eventually eliminated in the Eastern Conference Finals that year. After becoming a fan-favorite while playing for the Heat for many years, Alonzo left the team in order to sign a four-year deal with the New Jersey Nets in 2003. He was a free agent by this point. However, he was forced to retire briefly due to a kidney condition that year. Fortunately, Mourning was able to receive a kidney transplant and he returned to training soon afterwards. Over the next period, Alonzo complained that he wasn’t interested in playing for the Nets anymore, at which point he was traded to the Toronto Raptors. Later, Raptors officials stated that Mourning never passed his medical test, and that he never even reported to play with the team. It was also confirmed that he had been bought out of his remaining contract for a sum of $9 million. In 2005, he returned to the Heat after a long period of unproductive attempts to play elsewhere. Although he initially started as a backup to Shaquille O’Neal, he ended replacing the star when he was injured. The Heat fared quite well in the playoffs that year, although they were eventually eliminated by the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals. From 2005 onwards, Mourning continued to act as backup center for the Heat. After Shaquille became injured once again, he played a central role in leading the team to its first-ever NBA Finals. At the tail end of his career, this was the first time Alonzo came within touching distance of the NBA championship. Led by Dwayne Wade, the Heat managed to win the series and its first NBA championship. He continued to play for the Heat for the next two years before retiring in 2008. Relationships: Alonzo first met his wife Tracy in 1980 when he was playing in Las Vegas. The pair moved to South Florida in 1995 when Mourning joined the Heat. Two years later, they married. After having three children together, Tracy and Alonzo quietly separated in 2019. Real Estate: As part of Alonzo’s divorce proceedings, he ended up putting his home in Pinecrest, Florida up for sale. The residence hit the market for $5.3 million, and it spans over 9,000 square feet. Features include a 1,000-bottle wine cellar, an infinity pool, and a spa. He originally purchased the home for $4.5 million back in 2012. Alonzo’s son Trey was later played in the NBA. Legal Issues: In 2011, Mourning faced a lawsuit after he crashed his car and fled the scene of the accident. The car he hit was allegedly stopped because it had just been involved in another accident. Medical Issues: In 2003, Mourning received a kidney transplant from his cousin so that he could continue playing in the NBA. Alonzo hadn’t seen this man in 25 years, and his name was Jason Cooper. Later that year, Mourning received Cooper’s left kidney, which helped him address his focal segmental glomerulosclerosis and continue playing basketball.

Today, he is one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood after appearing in some of the most notable films of the last few decades. Gary is known for his distinct acting style, and he often plays villains. He is also a regular fixture in various science fiction films. Outside of acting, Gary has gained writing and production credits. In addition, Oldman is an established voice actor. Early Life: Gary Leonard Oldman was born on March 21st of 1958 in New Cross, London, England. At the age of seven, Gary’s alcoholic father abandoned the family. Raised alongside an older sister who also became an actor (Laila Morse), Oldman left school at the age of 16 to work in a sports shop. He was initially inspired to pursue a career in acting by Malcolm McDowell. As a boy from south London, Oldman supported his local club, Millwall. He later learned that his father had played for Millwall as a young man. Career: After graduating from drama school, Oldman found professional work as a stage actor, starring in plays like “Thark,” “Romeo and Juliet,” and “The Massacre at Paris.” He then made his film debut with “Remembrance.” He followed up with a number of additional appearances in various stage productions, including “The Pope’s Wedding” in 1984. Due to this last performance, he was offered the role of Sid Vicious in the 1986 film “Sid and Nancy.” This role drew attention from American audiences. After appearing in “State of Grace,” Oldman moved to the United States in the early 1990s. A major breakthrough came in 1992 when Gary took the role of Dracula in the film “Bram Stoker’s Dracula.” This led to Oldman playing villains in a number of other films, including “True Romance,” “Murder in the First,” “The Fifth Element,” “Lost in Space,” and “Leon: The Professional.” He then gained critical acclaim for playing Ludwig van Beethoven in “Immortal Beloved.” After a brief career slump from 2002 to 2004, Gary Oldman returned to prominence after booking the role of Sirius Black in the Harry Potter film franchise. He then followed up by booking the role of James Gordon in “Batman Begins,” a role he reprised in the film’s two sequels. He also took a voice acting role in “Kung Fu Panda 2” during this period. In 2011, he was nominated for an Academy Award after appearing in “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.” After a string of successful roles, Gary Oldman played Winston Churchill in 2017’s “Darkest Hour.” He won critical acclaim for his portrayal of the British prime minister, and the performance earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor. Acting Style: From the very beginning of his film acting career, Gary Oldman attempted to cultivate a unique performance style that would set him apart from his fellow actors. Above all else, Gary is known for his incredible versatility and range as an actor – able to play characters who are high-status, low-status, loud, quiet, villainous, friendly… the list goes on. Oldman is especially skilled when it comes to accents. Struggle with Alcoholism: In the early 1990s, Oldman struggled with a very public battle with alcoholism. After being arrested for a DUI in 1991, he checked himself into rehab in 1994. In 2001, he described himself as a recovering alcoholic, and today he remains abstinent from alcohol. Relationships: Gary Oldman’s first wife was Lesley Manville, whom he married in 1987. Three months after having their first child, Oldman left Manville in 1989. In 1990, Gary married Uma Thurman, although their relationship lasted only two years before ending in divorce. In 1994, he became engaged to Italian actress Isabella Rossellini, but they separated in 1996 without ever marrying. In 1997, Gary married Donya Fiorentino. They had two sons together before divorcing in 2001. In 2008, he married his fourth wife, singer and actress Alexandra Edenborough. Their divorce was finalized by 2015. In 2017, Oldman married a fifth wife, writer and art curator Gisele Shmidt. Legal Issues: While Oldman was in the process of divorcing Fiorentino, his ex-wife accused him of domestically assaulting her in front of their children. He denied all allegations made against him and was eventually cleared of all wrongdoing. While Oldman was granted sole custody of their children, Fiorentino was granted limited, supervised contact due to her history of drug abuse and other issues. Although Fiorentino accused Oldman of child abuse in 2003, the court dismissed these claims as well. In 2018, Fiorentino accused Oldman of abuse once again by leaking a story to tabloid news outlets. Real Estate: In 2002, it was reported that Gary Oldman had sold his home in Hollywood Hills for $2.2 million. He originally purchased the 4,000-square-foot home back in 1997. After selling the home, Oldman immediately moved into a rental property. The sale was made due to Oldman’s divorce with his ex-wife, Donya Fiorentino. In 2018, Oldman sold again – this time in the Los Feliz area. He managed to get just under $5 million for the residence, although the most notable detail of this real estate deal was who Gary was selling to. The buyer who picked up the $5 million bill was none other than Vanessa Hudgens, along with her partner Austin Butler. The 3,200-square-foot home features a detached two-car garage and a swimming pool, among other highlights. Oldman originally purchased the property back in 2011 for $2.9 million, leaving him with a healthy profit margin when the deal was completed. After selling the home, Gary was rumored to have relocated to Palm Springs.
