Nick Saban, Alabama. Nick Saban remains the highest-paid coach in College Football. Eleven days before the start of the 2022 college football season, Saban received a contract extension set to pay him over $11 million on an annual basis.
Last fall, the seven-time national champion agreed to a contract extension that would keep him in charge of the Crimson Tide through at least Feb. 28, 2029. Saban’s base salary was bumped by $30,000 to $305,000 per contract year, while his talent fee this year will be $9.595 million and will increase to $12.395 million for the final year of his new deal.
Saban’s current contract was extended by one year to Feb. 28, 2030. No one questions if the Alabama head coach is worth the money because he is.
It is hard for me to believe I am in my 14th full season as your head coach, and I remain eternally grateful and honored for the opportunity to continue coaching and developing young people of excellence at Clemson,” Swinney said in a statement from the athletic department.
