Sule Ambrose was a University student who dies while enacting the classification scene in his play.
For the Good Friday reenactment, Ambrose dressed up as Simon Peter, Jesus’ most prominent Disciple, and wore a long white toga. During the performance, though, he dropped to the ground and began bleeding.
Who Is Sule Ambrose? Student Dies During Crucifixion
Sule Ambrose, a Claratian Institute student studying to be a priest in the Catholic Church, was cast as Saint Peter, one of Jesus’ followers, in the drama.
Ambrose abruptly collapsed and began bleeding throughout the performance. He fainted while portraying a Gospels scenario in which Peter chops off a servant’s ear, which is afterward healed by Jesus, according to a fellow student called Mavis.
According to eyewitnesses quoted in the Punch newspaper, Ambrose’s fall was dismissed as “part of the theatre” and the performance went on. The game was stopped after he did not get up after many minutes and began bleeding.
He was transported to a local hospital by the cast and audience members, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
Sule Ambrose Parents
Sule Ambrose’s parents have not come into the picture yet. The 25-year-old University student was certainly expected to be home after the completion of her terrific play but little did they know that they could never see him again.
However, this is not the first time that any actor has died while doing a play. Big movies stars have given up their life while performing in front of the camera. One of the examples that could be taken is from the sets of 1970.
While performing the title role of Macbeth at the Crawford Livingston Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota, actor George Ostroska fell from a heart attack at the opening of the second act.
Going back to the 17th century, Molière, a French actor and writer who suffered from pulmonary TB, died while performing the title character in his play ‘Le Malade imaginaire’ when he was overcome by a severe coughing attack.
He did not, however, die on stage since he was able to continue the performance, but he died at home a few minutes later. The belief that wearing green brings ill luck to actors is thought to have originated from the color of his attire at the time of his death.
