She is the daughter of a Gurkha soldier.

Embracing the tranquility of Buddhist traditions, Suchi curates a serene atmosphere around her. This philosophy extends into her unwavering support for her husband, the renowned mountaineer Nirmal Purja, fondly known as Nims Purja.

For Suchi, this approach to life mirrors the values of Buddhism – a religion synonymous with peace and harmony. Rooted in the Gurung culture, she deeply appreciates her customs and heritage, harking back to the ancient tribes of Kaski and Syanjya in central Nepal.

Her upbringing, heavily influenced by the Gurung religion, exposes her to many rites and events practiced by her parents. Among the significant festivals, Lohsar, Dashain, and Tihar hold a special place in her heart. Being a native of Nepal, she intimately understands the Himalayan way of life.

Nirmal Purja Dai, Suchi’s husband, is of Magar descent. Despite coming from different cultural backgrounds, the couple easily navigates their distinct traditions.

Her passion for dentistry propelled her to the forefront of the field after graduating from the Dental Academy. As a professional dentist, Suchi carved out a successful niche for herself, making meaningful contributions to dental and medical services in both Nepal and the United Kingdom. Her impact resonated far and wide, benefiting numerous individuals in need.
