Frankie Smith Star Hobson mother, and her girlfriend Savannah Brockhill, are accused of murdering the toddler who died in September 2020 after suffering horrendous injuries,
A jury has been told that the woman accused of killing toddler Star Hobson did so while the baby’s mother was out of the room.
On September 22, 2020, Savannah Brockhill, 28, is accused of murdering 16-month-old Star Hobson in a flat in Keighley.
Frankie Smith, Star’s mother, is also charged with Star’s murder after dying from horrendous injuries inflicted by a “violent hit or blows” to her abdomen.

Savannah Brockhill is the security guard and amateur boxer accused of killing 16-month-old Star Hobson.

Partway through the trial at Bradford Crown Court, Smith was guilty of child cruelty. Savannah Brockhill, 28, the amateur boxer and security guard, is accused of killing Star.
Ms. Smith’s girlfriend, Ms. Brockhill, told the jury at Bradford Crown Court that she “loved Star like she was my own.”
She stated that while Star’s mother was intoxicated, she was “aggressive and abusive” and that she “strangled me, struck me, and kicked me.”
The duo, who had been in a “toxic” relationship for more than 11 months when Star died, are both charged with murder and causing her death.
Both of them dispute the allegations. They accept, however, that instead of phoning an ambulance, they Googled “shock in babies” and “how to pull a baby out of shock” 11 minutes before Smith’s phone texted 999.
The Star Hobson trial is horrific. Another child killed by people who were supposed to protect her. It’s one thing I’m very not-liberal on – people who hurt children (not talking women with severe postnatal mental illness) deserve the longest of sentences. They trusted you.

Earlier in the trial, jurors heard that the 16-month-old had endured various injuries before her death. According to the jury, Star had a lot of bruises and marks on her cheek, ear, and eyes.
Ms. Goddard revealed to the court that even Smith’s own family knew she lied a lot, and she advised the jury to take whatever she said in court “with caution.”
Ms. Goddard accused Smith of “riding on the coattails of the prosecution” when she changed her account from mimicking Brockhill’s to a new version midway through the trial, laying the blame on her then-girlfriend.

Frankie Smith, 20, and Savannah Brockhill, 28, the toddler’s mother, are both charged with murder and enabling the death of a child.
Both of them deny the allegations.
