Iris is one of the descendants of the first Prime Minister of Great Britain, Sir Robert Walpole, from her father’s side. Likewise, her ancestry also lies in the Rothschild family and the Sassoon family through her dad’s paternal grandmother, Sybil Sassoon. Her aunts are Rose, Margot, and Caroline.
Her mother has some ties to the royal family as well. Reportedly, Rose’s maternal grandmother, Lady Elizabeth Lambart, who was the daughter of Field Marshal of The 10th Earl of Cavan, attended the 1947 wedding of Princess Elizabeth as one of the bridesmaids. Similarly, her paternal grandmother, Sara, was the daughter of the 3rd Baronet, Sir Henry Birkin.
