Likewise, he was named District 3’s 2007 Commercial Vehicle Division District Trooper of the Year. He returned to the Field Operations Bureau on December 16, 2012, and was stationed in Ellensburg. He was moved to Yakima in 2014.

During his time with the State Patrol, Trooper LaMay had a variety of duties, including Armorer, Certified Reconstructionist, and Drug Recognition Expert.

He resigned from the Washington State Patrol on October 19, 2021, after serving the State Patrol and the people of Washington for nearly 22 years.
