Details On Six Trainee Lawyers Accused of Cheating In Their Exams
The identities of the six trainee lawyers who cheated in the 2020 Bar examinations have been revealed after a High Court judge reversed his decision to keep their names redacted on Wednesday.
Monisha Devaraj, Kushal Atul Shah, Sreeraam Ravindran, Lynn Kuek Yi Ting, Matthew Chow Jun Feng, and Lionel Wong Choong Yoong are the six petitioners identified in the extempore ruling.
Following the extreme public interest in the case, Justice Choo Han Teck granted the Attorney-request General’s to revoke the redaction and sealing orders.
The judge said that he was aware that it would unfair to end the careers of people who have not even started their careers. Having said that, he continued that in a profession that required utmost transparency and honesty, duplicity or deception at the beginning itself was dangerous for the community itself.
Apparently, the five of them coordinated with one another via Whatsapp messages to give their exams, and the sixth one took the help of another one to cheat.
