Mark Alexander Corky Ballas Jr. Wiki Biography

Mark Alexander Corky Ballas Jr. was born on 24 May 1986, in Houston, Texas USA, of Mexican, Spanish and Greek (father) and British (mother) descent. Mark is a dancer, choreographer, as well as actor and musician, best known since he became famous thanks to his extraordinary talent first displayed in 2007 on the well-known TV show “Dancing with the Stars”. Participating in 16 seasons of the program in a row and winning two of them, Mark Ballas has become one of the world’s most highly-paid dancers.

So just how rich is Mark Ballas? Forbes have recently estimated that Mark’s net worth is equal to $4 million, with his wealth having been accumulated principally from his dancing, but also singing and acting.

Mark Ballas Net Worth $4 Million

Ballas was born into a family of dance champions Corky and Shirley Ballas, so the background of his parents probably played a major role in Mark deciding his career, as of course he started dancing as a toddler. By the age of 10, when his family had moved to London, Ballas managed to become Britain’s Juvenile Ballroom and Latin American Dance champion. At the age of 11, while attending London’s Rosemead Preparatory School, Mark gained a full-time position at the Academy, together with a full college scholarship. In fact, in the year 2005 he won the “Performer of the Year” award.

The debut of Mark Ballas on “Dancing with the Stars” took place in 2007, the fifth season of the program. His partner was Sabrina Bryan from the girl group Cheetah Girls, and although the pair was eventually voted off the show, Ballas returned to win the title in season six, with a different celebrity partner in Olympic figure skating gold medallist Kristi Yamaguchi. This success certainly benefited the accumulation of Mark’s net worth.

In 2011 Mark was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Choreography. In addition to dancing and choreography, Ballas is also known as a singer, songwriter and musician. Together with his close friend Derek Hough, and sister Julianne, Ballas launched 2B1G while they were still teenagers, and then with Derek the blues-rock band called Almost Amy, soon changing its name to Ballas Hough Band and releasing its debut album “BHB” in March 2009. Later on, in March 2011 Ballas released his first solo CD “HurtLoveBox”.

To mention the success of Mark Ballas in his acting career, he has played the starring role in the “Copacabana” musical, and was one of the principal dancers in the UK National “Tour of Maria de Buenos Aires”. He was also a stand-in for one of the leads in the “Buddy Holly Musical”. By the way, you might have also noticed Ballas in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”, in which he played an extra.

This impressive list of career accomplishments to date is the main reason Mark Ballas is already a millionaire today. Being among the highest-paid dancers in the world, he tries his fortune in business as well. Recently, together with his colleague and friend Derek Hough, Ballas has purchased a house to renovate and sell at a profit, listing the home for almost $2 million. He also owns few restaurants called the Fat Ballas Burger in Washington and, as well as working closely with CoverGirl cosmetics.

Even though Mark Ballas works in one of the most vivid industries in the world and has thousands of fans worldwide, he has always been noted for being extremely private about his personal life. He has been known to date both Julianne Hough, and Samantha Bryan.
