Marcus Spanevelo is an ex-boyfriend of Cassie Carli, who was located in Birmingham, Alabama. According to the authorities, he was the last person to see Cassie on March 27 before she went missing.
She had gone to a restaurant to meet Spanevelo, the father of their 4-year-old daughter Saylor, for a child exchange, according to police. Her vehicle was discovered nearby on Tuesday, and some of her personal things.
After locating Spanevelo and Saylor in Birmingham, Alabama, Santa Rosa County investigators interrogated them on Wednesday. After then, the detectives went back to Santa Rosa County, writes WKRG.
Moreover, Carli’s father texted her late Sunday night, inquiring about her location. He received a text message from her phone a few hours later, claiming that she had vehicle and phone problems. She also stated that she would be spending the night at Spanevelo’s house.
Another screenshot of the messages shows that around 5:30 p.m. Monday, Spanevelo informed Carli’s father that she had requested him to drop her off “in the middle of nowhere in Destin” so she could go to her friend’s house.

Cassie Carli’s ex-boyfriend, Marcus Spanevelo, was arrested in Tennessee on various counts relating to her disappearance.
According to Wear-TV, he was taken into jail by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office shortly before 5 p.m. on Saturday. He was booked into custody at 11 p.m. Friday, according to the Maury County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations and the Tennessee Highway Patrol detained Spanevelo in Lebanon, Tennessee. He is charged with several counts, i.e., Tampering with Evidence, Giving False Information Concerning a Missing person Investigation, and Destruction of Evidence.
