Maggie Steffens started off playing water polo at her high school, Monte Vista.
She went to Stanford University to pursue a B.S. in Science, Technology, and Society, followed by M.S. in Management, Science, and Engineering at Stanford.
She also maintained her water polo career by playing on a women’s team, where she was named one of the tournament’s MVPs.
At the 2009 FINA Junior Women’s World Championships, Maggie made her first international debut. She came in third place.
