After the investigation, the authorities found that Keith’s wife’s abduction was self-fabricated. And, Sherri had voluntarily stayed with her former boyfriend in California and had inflicted self-harm upon herself to make her story convincing, and believable.
For cooking up such lies and making False Statements, Keith’s wife was recently charged with Law Enforcement as noted in People. As per the US Department of Justice, if she is really found guilty, she will face up to 25 years in prison and also fines of up to $500k.
On November 2, 2016, when Keith Papini returned home from his work, he did not find his wife’s sign in the home. And thus, after full consideration, he reported her disappearance to the police at 5.50 pm.
About their wedding life, Kieth and Sherri have been married for more than nine years as they held their wedding ceremony in August 2012, thus, becoming one.
