Katie Powers is a Palatine woman who was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct after accosting a teen on a village bike trail on Wednesday.
Officers arrested Katie, of the 400 block of North North Court, after responding to a complaint of a suspicious individual in the 1000 block of East Sayles Drive around 4 p.m.
According to authorities, a 17-year-old was walking down the route when she came across Powers, who lifted her arm and shouted, “Get in the car!” After alerting another individual about the experience, the teenager fled the location.
However, police claimed they found no evidence of attempted kidnapping and no car in the area where the incident took place.
Powers was charged with one count of disorderly behavior and taken to a hospital for assessment due to unknown medical problems. On Nov. 19, she is due to appear in court.
