Chief Constable Adam Palmer of the Vancouver Police Department said on Wednesday that charges had been filed in the 2018 double murder that claimed the life of 15-year-old Alfred Wong.
On January 13, 2018, shots broke out on West Broadway at Ontario Street, killing Kevin Whiteside, 23, of Vancouver, and Alfred Wong, 15, of Coquitlam, who was sitting in the back seat of his parents car.
He was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a gunfight, according to police.

In connection with Whiteside’s killing, Carter faces further counts of second-degree murder and firing a weapon with intent.
He was also charged with one count of aggravated assault against a third victim, who was wounded by a gunshot but survived.

“This was a long and complicated investigation that required some of VPD’s most experienced murder investigators to travel across the nation to obtain and gather evidence,” Palmer said while announcing Kane Carter’s charges in the January 2018 killings of Wong and Kevin Whiteside, 23.
On the night of January 13, 2018, Wong was a young athlete and a bright student when he was wounded by a stray gunshot while traveling in the back of his parents’ automobile.
Alfred’s mother, Chelly Wong, stated, “He was seriously hurt and died in the hospital a few days later. In the incident, Whiteside was also slain. We understand there is nothing that can be done to bring Alfred back, but we believe he deserves justice for his tragic death, and we are anxious to learn what occurred that night.”
“Without your help, the police may not be able to apprehend the perpetrator, and our son will not be able to rest. We beg for your assistance in bringing our sadness to a close. Please assist us in ensuring that the person responsible for our son’s death is brought to justice. We shall be eternally thankful for your assistance.” Chelly further added.

People began searching for Kane Carter’s photos on Facebook as soon as the news broke. However, the police agency has not released any photographs of the prisoner owing to security concerns.
Also, most of his details, like his family information, are still hidden behind closed doors. Palmer, as previously said, has declined to release any further information about Carter.
Furthermore, the victim’s parents must be devastated by the event. They had to watch their child, who was so young, die.
