The Philadelphia Eagles are a Philadelphia-based American football team on the professional level. The Eagles are a member team of the National Football Conference (NFC) East division of the National Football League (NFL).
The South Philadelphia Sports Complex’s Lincoln Financial Field is where the team plays its home games. When a syndicate led by Bert Bell obtained the rights to an NFL franchise in Philadelphia, the team was founded in 1933 to take the place of the insolvent Frankford Yellow Jackets.
The Eagles have participated in the post-merger NFL Championship Games four times, winning three of them (1948, 1949, and 1960), made an appearance in 29 playoff games, won 12 NFC East division titles, participated in four Super Bowls, and won Super Bowl LII at the conclusion of the 2017 season. In Super Bowl LVII, they will compete in their fourth Super Bowl.
