A longtime broadcaster for 105.7 The Point in St. Louis, Jeff Burton, passed away on Monday, almost 17 months after being told he had prostate cancer. He was 55.
Jeff had become a regular at local concerts and events, especially the Pointfest music festival. He published the children’s book “The Watering Hole” in October 2018.
Monday afternoon, the station issued a statement confirming Jeff’s passing.

He has worked in radio since 1986. He has previously worked for 105.7 The Point as a DJ. His first children’s book, The Watering Hole, was released in 2018.

Julie, Jeff’s wife, said on social media that his medical staff at Missouri Baptist Hospital was battling to stabilize him and that he had received two blood transfusions and a platelet transfusion at the time. Although his condition slowly improved, it was obvious that the illness had affected his body since his blood levels were not what they should have been.
Jeff Burton’s followers have wished him well on social media after his prostate cancer diagnosis. His most recent birthday was in May 2022, making him 55 years old.
Burton informed his audience that he had prostate cancer in March 2021. He said that the diagnosis was made as a result of elevated PSA levels discovered by a regular blood test. He claimed to have had another visit a few months later and learned that his PSA levels were still increasing.
