Pilgrim High School principal Gerald Habershaw has reportedly died on November 27, 2021. What happened?
Pilgrim High School is a well-known suburban high school located in Warwick, Rhode Island.
The school’s current principal Gerald Habershaw came under investigation after a video of him dancing unmasked during the homecoming dance was shared online.
Following the homecoming event on November 6, the school saw a covid-19 outbreak. The school committee then decided to take remote classes for the rest of the week.
The students and staff are set to return to the school next week; however, Habershaw’s future remained uncertain. Assistant principal Pamela Bernardi is appointed as an acting principal for the time being.

Gerald Habershaw Unmasked Dance On Homecoming Event
Pilgrims High School organized the annual homecoming dance on November 6. The protocol required students, faculty, and staff to wear masks unless actively drinking or eating.
However, multiple videos surfaced online that showed Principal Gerald Habershaw dancing maskless inside the building. An investigation was issued thereafter and he was placed on administrative leave until further decision.
The people of Rhode Island filed an online petition to reinstate Habershaw and give him his job back, as per Yahoo! news.
A parent, whose child also attends the Pilgrim High School, stated that the students and volunteers were required to take a covid-19 test prior to the dance, and the event was held outside in a tent.
The parent added that Habershaw’s an amazing figure to the school and does not deserve any punishment. Another parent figure also came in support of Habershaw and declared their decision to have him back as the school principal.
