Stewart grew up in his hometown and went to Del Norte High School; after matriculation, he enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. During his studies and after graduation, French worked in theaters before he broke into television, by landing the role of Razor Dee in the TV series “The New WKRP in Cincinnati” (1992). Two years later he made his debut film appearance, as Lieutenant Ferretti in the sci-fi adventure “Stargate”, starring Kurt Russell, James Spader and Jaye Davidson. Thanks to his great performance in his early roles, soon French’s name reached directors of high-profile films and TV series, so in 1996 he was selected for the role of Harry Solomon in the sitcom “3rd Rock from the Sun”, next to other stars of the series, John Lithgow, Jane Curtin and Kristen Johnston. He appeared in all 139 episodes, which only increased his net worth to a large degree.
