Fadel Alkilani, a student senator from Washington University, has allegedly snatched 2,977 US flags that were meant to commemorate the victims of the 9/11 attack on its 20th anniversary.
The miniature flags were a part of the 9/11: Never Forget Project memorial. Alkilani was seen filling blue trash bags with those flags when he was filmed by a cameraman, reported Daily Mail.

Alkilani reportedly tried to sabotage the memorial a night before but the campus police stopped him, according to meaww.com.
College Republican, Nathaniel Hope, captured him in a video while he was carrying garbage bags filled with flags. Alkilani asked him who he was and Nathaniel told him what he was doing was against the school’s rules.
However, Alkilani replied he wasn’t doing violating any rules and asked him to go away.
Young America’s Foundation posted the video on their official Twitter account. In the video, Nathaniel is also heard saying that Alkilani showed no remorse about the action.
Nick Rodriguez, the president of the Washington University College Republicans, stated that Alkilani should at least be removed from the student union and his resident adviser position.
The university’s vice-chancellor expressed their disappointment but did not disclose what action they would against Alkilani.
