John Setka, an Australian labor unionist, was born in September 1964. He currently serves as secretary for the Victorian-Tasmanian division of the Construction, Forestry, Mining, and Energy Union (CFMMEU), which temporarily oversees the division for South Australia.
Media skeptics have lauded Setka’s management for the CFMMEU’s strong sway over construction companies. Setka attempted to initiate a defamation case against Abbott after the opposition leader called Setka a thug in 2012.
The Australian trade unionist John Setka’s estranged wife, Emma Walters, was accused of plotting his murder, according to a report published by Nine newspapers on Wednesday. Reports state that earlier this month, Walters made threats to kill a guy and tried to get a gun.
According to the charges, she was recently charged by the police with attempting to commit a serious crime.
Walters had arranged to meet with the police on Wednesday to make her allegations against Setka. John Setka and Walters have two children.
