As per the detail published by Murderpedia, Carman and his sister, Tonia Cummings asked the victims, James and Zelma Long for direction and got inside their house then robbed them.

Carman’s accomplice in his crime was his sister Tonia Cummings. She has been reported to be under the supervision of the department of corrections in Chillicothe Correctional Center, Missouri.
