Carl Girouard is a 24-year-old Montreal man identified as the prime suspect in the Quebec City Sword attacks that have left two dead and at least five severely injured. On Saturday night, on Halloween, his terror started around 10: 30 before he was captured after 2 and a half-hour long manhunt. According to the reports, the suspect was dressed in medieval clothes and was armed with a Japanese style Katana sword. Although the attack was planned in advance, the victims were chosen at random. 

At the press conference held on Sunday, authorities believed the young man to have mental health issues. After showing signs of hypothermia, the suspect was admitted to the mental health institution for evaluation. He is now under police custody for questioning.
