Who Is Bryan Habana Father Bernie Habana?
Bryan Habana’s father is Bernie Habana. Habana was christened Bryan Gary Habana after former Manchester United footballers Bryan Robson and Gary Bailey when he was born in Johannesburg.
Habana attended King Edward VII School and Rand Afrikaans University for his education (now known as the University of Johannesburg).
Habana senior’s relationship with his son deteriorated after Bryan revealed that he removed his father from his long-standing position as business manager in 2010 because he was stealing from him.
Bryan, who retired from football in April 2018, was a member of the Springboks’ 2007 World Cup-winning side. Bernard’s son was a member of the national team for more than a century.
Bernie Habana Arrest Charges
The 2007 Rugby World Cup winner, Bryan Habana, has been arrested for fraud.
Bernard James Habana had already been arrested on the same accusation. For the past five years, the case has been ongoing.
Habana Snr was taken to Johannesburg’s Linden police station before appearing in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court. The judge set his bail at R1,000 and adjourned the matter later.
According to police spokeswoman Dimakatso Sello, the suspect was apprehended on Monday and had already appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court.
The case was first filed in 2015, and the state plans to bring several victims as state witnesses against Habana Snr. A woman had claimed that she had transferred money into an account belonging to Bernard Habana and his girlfriend, Mbalii Mtetwa.
