Alfonso Bedoya Net Worth: Alfonso Bedoya was a Mexican actor who had a net worth of $100 thousand dollars. Alfonso Bedoya was born April 16, 1904 in Vicam, Sonora, Mexico. Though a native of Mexico, Bedoya achieved his greatest success in U.S. films. He was born in a tiny village in Mexico, living in numerous places throughout the country, including Mexico City. His private education, however, was in Houston, Texas as a teenager, but he dropped out and roamed about working an assortment of jobs. His family then brought him back to Mexico City, where he found work in the struggling Mexican film industry. Bedoya appeared in many Mexican films before director John Huston offered him the role of Gold Hat in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948). Bedoya stole the scenes he appeared in—as the smiling cutthroat where he delivered his most famous line: ” I don’t have to show you any stinking badges.” This movie is number 30 on AFI’s 100 Years…100 Movies and Bedoya’s line is number 36 on AFI’s 100 Greatest Movie Quotes list. Bedoya’s line has become widely imitated by entertainers. He made a number of popular films in the U.S. over the next nine years, but a drinking problem destroyed his health. Alfonso Bedoya died at the age of 53. His last movie, The Big Country, was released in 1958 after his death.
