Anastasia was introduced as a stew turned chef in Season 4 of Below Deck Med.
The friendship she formed with Hannah Ferrier and Aesha Scott remains one of the show’s most enduring.
Although she has retired from yachting, Anastasia remains involved with Below Deck through Galley Talk.
But it’s not her reality TV moments that have her friends gushing these days. It’s her love for her fiance Will Higginson.

Anastasia Surmava got engaged to Will Higginson, and both of them posted photos of their engagement on Instagram.
Anastasia spent one of the best weekends of her life with friends at a lake house in Vermont, her home state.
Will proposed to her on the deck in front of the lake, with one of their friends capturing the moment on camera.
“Wait until the end,” Anastasia captioned the Instagram video of her weekend highlights, which included her engagement and the reveal of her stunning ring.
Alex Radcliffe, a Below Deck Mediterranean alum who recently made a major life change, shared an Instagram Story of himself learning the good news.
Alex expressed his congratulations to the couple and made a joke about the wedding has an open bar.
Will also revealed on Instagram that he asked Anastasia, and she said yes.
He posted photos of her kissing him, showing off the ring, and the last week since he asked her to marry him.
As with Anastasia’s engagement announcement, some familiar faces appeared in the comments section to express their love and congratulations.
Heather Chase, who was Anastasia’s friend before becoming another chief stew on Below Deck Season 9, had a message for the couple.
Tanner Sterback and Ciara Duggan also left comments in support of Anastasia and Will.

Why Was Anastasia Surmava Fired From Below Deck?
Surmava remained in the Bravo franchise as a cast member on Below Deck Galley Talk alongside Alex after pulling double duty as a third stew and a chef.
The Georgia native also collaborated with her former chief stew Ferrier to establish Ocean International Training Academy.
During the season, Surmava transitioned from third stew to chef on a few charters. This was the first time the show had done something like this.
Surmava took on the role with gusto although she is not a classically trained chef.
Surmava was never really fired, instead, she step down from the position of the chef.
So for now, she is still the name in the show but is not seen on the show.
