Isabelle Weidemann is a long-track Canadian speed skater whose parents are Laurel Rockwell and John Weidemann.
At the age of 12, Isabelle Weidemann followed in the footsteps of a family friend and switched from downhill skiing to speed skating as her winter sport.
Isabelle stood on the podium after each of her four national championship events. After a dismal 3,000-metre run in which she tied for second with Brianne Tutt of Airdrie, Alta.
But, she bounced back the next day by defending her 5,000-metre championship in 7:13.28.
With the help of that victory, she also qualified for her second consecutive global senior single-distance championships, which were inaugurated at the 2018 Winter Olympic oval in Gangneung, South Korea.

Unfortunately, Lily age 17, had the most difficult schedule and competition, competing in six Canada Cup 2 races against senior-level skaters just below the national squad.
Lily won the women’s all-around title at the Ontario long-course championships earlier this month at Brewer Park, where she also hopes to train and attend the University of Calgary in September.
She won the 3,000 and 1,500 (tie) meters and was second in the 500 and 1,000 meters.
