Eddie Meyers and Janet Meyers are the parents of Elana Meyers Taylor. Her father and mother both are very athletic.
Elana comes from a mixed-race, a black father and a white mother. They raised her and her sisters in Douglasville, Georgia but she was born in Oceanside, California.
Her father, Eddie was a professional football player. He played football in college at the US Naval Academy and then in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons.
Her mother, Janet played sports in high school. She played softball and was a cheerleader as well but she did not go to college like her father.
Moreover her dad, Eddie had to serve six years of military service before playing for NFL. From 1982 to 1987, he used his Marine leave to join the Atlanta Falcons training camp for six straight summers.
As the military is hell-bent on its strict rules and regulations, Eddie had to return to his post as supply officer at Camp Pendleton, California.
He finally got discharged in 1987 and immediately went after his dream, Falcons. He then worked as a regional president for Georgia at PNC Bank.

Her mother, Janet played a huge role in her life as she was the one who told Elana to try bobsled after seeing it on tv.
When Elana did go to training for the bobsled, she spent a lot of time on the phone with her mom crying.
Though she made it to the national team, she was still lacking practice and was not getting much chance on the ice.
She became frustrated and restless, but her mother consoled and encouraged her. Also, her mom told her she could always count on her family to have her back and if she wanted she could return home.

Elana Meyers Taylor Husband And Son
Elana Meyers Taylor married her husband Nic Taylor in April 2014 and has a son Nico Taylor in 2020.
Nic is a coach and fellow Olympic bobsledder and they got married in April 2014. Their son, Nico, was born with Down syndrome which was at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
When Nico was born, he was deaf in both ears and went to the Atlanta Speech School.
He is now two years old and has had many challenges in his short life. His struggles retained her wanting to be a better person every day.
