Whistling Thorns is in attractive and peaceful gardens, with views of the Ngong’ Hills. The hotel offers cottages and camping, and has a variety of activities. There are 3 en-suite cottages, each with a veranda overlooking the garden.
All cottages have a king size double and single bed. There are 7 en-suite standard twin rooms. All rooms overlook the Ngong Hills. There are 3 luxury en-suite tents in a private, secluded location. There is also a campsite with designated fireplaces. The compound has a swimming pool living range and a playground with tree house, bouncy castle and swings .
The restaurant has a Kenyan and international menu. Specialities include homemade pizzas and nyama choma grilled meats. Other dishes include balsamic mushroom bruschetta, Swahili coconut chicken with basmati rice, oven baked red snapper, vegetable moussaka and T-bone steak with herb butter. The bar serves soft drinks, beers, wines and spirits.
Activities include horse riding and guided game walks. Bird watching is recommended. Massage, manicure and pedicure are on offer. Cultural visits to a local Maasai village are available. Birthday parties, staff parties, teambuilding and retreats can all be arranged, with a choice of nyama choma grilled meats or buffet.
