The famous singer portrayed the infamous Reggiani in her latest movie House of Gucci.
Patrizia Reggiani was arrested in 1997 by Italian Police for hiring a hit-man to kill her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci, the one-time head of the Gucci fashion house.
Lady Gucci, as they call her has always denied being involved in the killing of her husband. She has retorted that it was her best friend, who set her up.
Where is Patrizia Reggiani Now?
Since being released from prison in 2016 Reggiani, has continued to live in Milan with her then 89 years old mother.
It had been reported that she was seen in the upscale neighborhood of Milan feeding her parrot, that sits on her shoulder.
In 1997 when she was arrested and had been to sentenced to 29 years in prison, she had to let go of her lavish lifestyle.
The woman, who never had to work in her entire lifetime refused to work even if it meant she would be eligible for parole in 2011.
She was released in 2016 due to good behavior after 18 years in prison.
It was said that even in prison she led a lavish lifestyle, which saw her keep a pet ferret named Bambi, which was sadly killed in prison by one of the inmates.
Reggiani had two daughters with her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci, Allesandra, and Allegra Gucci.
It has been reported that the mother-daughter bonding isn’t doing well and she has no communication with her two daughters, who have both been married and are living in Switzerland.
Does She Still Receive the Money?
In 1993, when she separated from her husband Maurizio Gucci as part of the divorce settlement she received $860,000.
After she was freed from prison, the court ruled that she was entitled to an annuity of $1.2 million from his estate.
It has also been reported that she would get a total of $20 million from all the back payments, while she was in prison.
The Black Widow once claimed that she would rather choose to weep in Rolls Royce than being happy on a bicycle.
Even after refusing to work at first, in 2014, she took up a job as a consultant in Bozart where she designed many rainbow Esque jewelry but her employment status currently is unknown.

The first thing that Patrizia did after her release was go shopping, but she has constantly said that she does not have enough money to buy nice clothes.
It has remained a mystery what her exact net worth is, but it would not be wild to make a guess she has enough to live a comfortable life.
Even though she still receives money from her husband’s estate, Reggiani has said that she is bankrupt and doesn’t have much with her.
On the contrary, there have been reports that she still owns a multi-million dollar yacht called “The Creole” which she owned before her jail time.
House of Gucci and Reggiani’s Portrayal by Lady Gaga
In 2021, Ridley Scott-directed movie House of Gucci hit the theaters causing a lot of buzzes, as it was based on the true story of Reggiani.
Reggiani, portrayed by Lady Gaga received a lot of praises for her performance in the movie, enough for her to get a nomination for best actress in Golden Globes, BAFTA, and Screen Actors Guild Award.
Patrizia, however, wasn’t impressed by Gaga at all.
She said she was disappointed that Gaga didn’t consult her at all for the role. She said that this showed a lack of sensibility from Gaga’s side.
Lady Gaga countered Patrizia’s claim saying she didn’t want to meet her as it would cloud her own opinions on Patrizia.
She was quoted saying that Patrizia would want her to play the role in a way that would make Patrizia seem like a good person, which she says would take away the gist of the movie.
Gaga went on to say that she had done a lot of research, watched a lot of interviews, and read everything about the case.
She also said that she noticed how often Patrizia would lie in interviews, which made her think about Patrizia in a bad light and hence, opting out of consulting her for the role.
