Where Is Matthew Heikkila Girlfriend Marta Morales Now? Parents Murder & Brother

In this article, we will learn about Matthew Heikkila and the whereabouts of his girlfriend Marta Morales. We will also explore details about his parent’s murder, his brother, and more.

Matthew Heikkila was the 20-year-old adopted son of Dawn and Richard Heikkila who shook Bernards Township 30 years ago, on Jan 29, 1991, by murdering both his parents.

Despite the fact that Matthew was adopted, Richard and Dawn loved him as if he were their own child and wanted to see him succeed. They were, however, dissatisfied with his attitude and frequently pressed him to change his ways.

As per the reports, when his parents returned home, he attacked them with a shotgun, shooting them in the back of the heads with “Mom” and “Mom and Dad” inscribed on the shells, according to authorities.

He had psychotic outbursts frequently and suffered from “adopted kid syndrome,” according to the episode.

Matthew Heikkila also kidnapped his girlfriend, Marta Morales handcuffing her and forcing her to spend the night with his deceased parents in his residence.

Marta Morales initially went to his home, where he lived with his parents, Dawn and Richard, after a birthday supper with her lover, Matthew on January 29, 1991.

After the murder, he immediately fled the country, and his father’s checkbook was discovered in his possession when he was caught in Jamaica in February.

He was extradited to New Jersey in 1992 and charged with murder, kidnapping, robbery, making terroristic threats, and possessing weapons.

Matthew Heikkila: Parents Murder & Brother

Matthew’s parent’s Richard and Dawn Heikkila adopted him in the early 1970s.

It is said that they had tried and failed to have children of their own. Dawn, on the other hand, found out she was pregnant just as Matthew’s adoption was being finalized. His brother Joshua was born to her later.

Some argue that this occurred despite equal treatment, while others, including Matthew, argue that it occurred as a result of unequal treatment.

According to most stories, he voiced the belief that he was treated differently since he was adopted whereas Joshua was their biological child.

Matthew had a few run-ins with the cops throughout his childhood and adolescence, mostly for small larceny and juvenile shenanigans, and Richard and Dawn seemed to be on his side.
