Jelka Pesic was arrested on August 15, 1992, after police found evidence tying her to the death of Alexandra Pesic ten days prior.
On August 5, 1992, Alexandra lost her life in a hospital from gunshot wounds after she was shot by David Segoviano in the parking lot in front of the dental office where she worked.
Bernice Courson was with her when they walked over to Alexandra’s car before a red car wheeled behind them and shot the 25-year-old former beauty queen.
Four were involved in the death of the young dental assistant with Jelka being the mastermind. David Segoviano was the shooter, Delorme was the driver, and Milan Nenadic had a hand in supplying the murder weapon as well as the car.
It was months before Jelka went to trial. Eventually, she was convicted of first-degree murder for hire in 1993 and received a life sentence.
Although one who has been sentenced on charges of first-degree murder can only apply for parole after serving 25 years, Jelka brought up the “faint hope clause” that allowed her to ask permission to be released early after serving 15 years in 2008 claiming she was ill.
After some deliberation, the jury declined her parole as she refused to accept responsibility for her actions. She was eligible to apply for parole again in 2018, however, the outcome of that trial is not known.

Although the age of Jelka Pesic is not common knowledge, she is believed to be in her early to late 60s.
She is married to her husband Sam Pesic. He was arrested along with his wife, son, and three other men who had a hand in murdering the mother of his grandson, Brandon.
Alexandra Pesic had been married to Jelka’s son, Joe Pesic. However, after Jelka fed Brandon tea to help him sleep that they almost couldn’t wake him up from, Alexandra divorced Joe.
Even after 29 years, Jelka has not shed light on the motive behind her actions. However, even though Joe was not charged with the crime as he had an alibi, most people believe that Sam and Joe were more involved with the crime than the investigators were able to prove.
Joe’s son Brandon lived with Alexandra’s mother, Zdenka Ignatovic, as Joe never contacted his son nor tried to fight for custody after the death of Alexandra.
Zdenka sued Jelka and the rest of the family for wrongful death in 1998. After several years of litigation, the case was settled in 2003 for $350,000. Brandon received $183,00 when he turned nineteen in 2008.
