Where Is Hot Fuzz Filmed? Where To Watch And Cast Guide

Edgar Wright is the man behind the camera for the action comedy picture Hot Fuzz, released in 2007 and written by Wright and Simon Pegg.

The film’s plot revolves around Pegg, Nick Frost, Timothy Dalton, and Jim Broadbent as two police detectives. They are investigating a series of brutal and unexplained deaths in a West Country town.

It is the second film in the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, after Shaun of the Dead (2004), followed by The World’s End. It is also the most successful of the three films (2013).

Where Is Hot Fuzz Filmed? Locations And Places

Hot Fuzz was filmed in Wells, which doubled for the film’s fictional setting of Sandford.

It is the smallest city in all of England, which means it is already the size of a town. Whether a coincidence or not, it connected to the filmmaker Edgar Wright before the beginning of production. He spent his childhood years living there.

They were interested in filming the movie in the town of Stow-on-the-Wold. However, because they could not film there, most of the movie was shot in Wells, located in Somerset, which is also Edgar Wright’s hometown.

In addition, filmmaker Wright intended for the Church of St. Cuthbert to serve as the primary focal point and primary point of interest in the small community shown in the film. Because of this, the crew behind “Hot Fuzz” had no choice but to cut the scene involving the Wells Cathedral from the film. In addition, the Bishop’s Palace, located in Wells, makes an appearance in the movie.

The sequences in the movie that took place at the police station were filmed in real-life settings. The movie is being shot at the Hendon Police College and the Metropolitan Police Specialist Training Centre in Gravesend. They filmed several sequences at the Police College, with a skid pan for the driving school and an athletic track.

The sequence in the movie in the flower shop was filmed in Mill Hill, and the last few seconds of the movie were filmed at the Waverley Abbey ruins that are still standing. In addition, when they were filming the movie in Somerset while dressed as police officers, many locals were under the impression that Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were real police officers.

In addition, the hotel that Simon Pegg’s character stays in throughout the film’s events was based on a real hotel, and the majority of the cast and crew of the movie did the same during production. The bar we see in the film is based on a real establishment in Somerset’s Market Place.

Hot Fuzz Story Plot And Spoilers

The film’s main character is a law enforcement officer named Nicholas Angel. He was the best in his division, and as a result, he was elevated to Sergeant. However, his coworkers, who were envious of his success, conspired to arrange for him to be transferred to Sandford, a relatively small town.

The community became well-known for its several “Village of the Year” accolades. In addition, the people who lived in Sandford were slackers, and their attitude of complacency stands in stark contrast to Angel’s regimented lifestyle. Additionally, he did not like his partner, Danny Butterman, who had been jailed by Angel in the past for his obnoxious behavior when under the influence of alcohol.

In a short time, many strange occurrences will occur in the community. It appeared as though accidents were to blame for the deaths of many persons in Sandford. Angel has a hunch that these occurrences are connected to the many real estate transactions that are taking place in the market. As a result, he believes that the store manager Simon Skinner is the one who is responsible for these occurrences.

Nonetheless, Skinner can demonstrate his innocence. But afterward, Angel was attacked by Skinner’s staff. Angel, however, prevails over him and forces him to disclose the truth about who was really behind what happened in Sandford.

The Neighbourhood Watch Alliance, often known as the NWA, was the organization that was responsible for the killings in the community. They took all the victims’ lives because their actions diminished Sandford’s chances of being named “Village of the Year.” In addition, Frank Butterman, Danny’s father, was the leader of this shadowy group that operated in the local community.

In addition to this, Frank explains the reasoning for his conduct. The late man’s wife was instrumental in the success of their little town’s bid for the inaugural “Village of the Year” award. But the traveler took pleasure in her labor and ultimately took her own life because she was disappointed that she had not won the medal.

As a result, Rank and his team were responsible for the deaths of individuals who threatened Sandford’s chances of receiving the prize. Angel solicits Danny’s assistance and formulates a strategy to thwart Frank and his NWA. During the gunfight, Angel and his companion eliminate many NWA members.

In addition, Danny, Angel, and the rest of the police force successfully prevent Frank’s intentions from being carried out. He was attempting to evacuate the town alongside Skinner. He was killed in an accident while trying to flee from Angel.

Later, an older and former NWA member attempts to assassinate Angel. Still, instead, he bombs up the local police station and kills himself. However, Danny was able to rescue Angel from the dangerous situation.

After some time, his bosses requested that Angel returns to London. However, he declines the opportunity and continues his studies at Stanford. After a year, Angel is still employed in the same quaint little town, but now he has the position of Inspector. On the other hand, Danny attained the Rank of Sergeant.
