In a decision that left him “stunned,” longtime CNN anchor Don Lemon revealed Monday that he had been let go by the network.
This news came less than an hour after Fox News announced that it had dismissed host Tucker Carlson, causing yet another significant upheaval in the cable news industry.
Lemon criticized CNN’s management in a statement he sent on Twitter on Monday, writing: “I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly.”
Soon after, CNN announced the termination but referred to Lemon’s claim as “inaccurate,” adding: “He was given the chance to meet with management but chose to release a statement on Twitter.”
