Aiden Aslin wife Diane Aslin, has been devastated to hear the news of her husband’s capture and death sentence, according to the latest report published.
Two British men, including Aiden Aslin and a Moroccan national, were sentenced to death by pro-Russian officials after being seized while fighting in the Ukrainian army in Mariupol.
Aiden and Shaun Pinner were found guilty of “trumped-up charges” in a court in Russian-controlled east Ukraine.
They were sentenced after a days-long process that some have dubbed a “show trial” to replicate war crimes hearings involving Russian soldiers in Kyiv.
Where Is Aiden Aslin Wife Diane Aslin Now?
Aiden Aslin wife Diane Aslin is a Ukrainian national and had to face displacement because of the Russia-Ukraine war from her homeland.
Diane was forced to immigrate to Hungary, and the latest news covers that she is moved to the UK to live near her husband’s family.
According to a Dailymail report published in April, Aslin’s father, Andy Wood, claimed that Diane was planning a trip to the East Midlands from Eastern Europe.
The article revealed that the family had been in contact with relatives of Viktor Medvedchuk, a pro-Russian politician in Ukraine, who they believe could be involved in a prisoner swap for the British POWs.
There has been no recent news on Diane as her husband has been sentenced to death by the pro-Russian supporter government.
A Story Of A Family Of British-Ukrainian Soldier As He Faces Death Sentence
A 28-year-old British-Ukrainian soldier Aiden Aslin and Pinner from Newark were found guilty by a court in Russian-controlled territory in Donetsk with Saaudun Brahim.
Both Britons have stated that they serve in the Ukrainian marines, making them active-duty troops entitled to protection under the Geneva Conventions.
However, they have been depicted as mercenaries by Russian official media, and a court has found them guilty of “being a mercenary.”
Russia is said to be using the procedure to exert pressure on the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the government may seek a prisoner swap for Russian soldiers convicted of murder and other war crimes during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The death penalty is prohibited in Russia but not in the territory it controls in eastern Ukraine.
