Shou Chew lives in Singapore with his wife, Vivian Kao, and their two children.
The Singaporean businessman and entrepreneur Chew is the chief executive officer of TikTok.
After graduating from Hwa Chong Institution, Chew then served his National Service as a commissioned officer in the Singapore Army.
Following the service, Chew move to London where he studied and graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University College London.
He subsequently acquired a Master of Business Administration degree at Harvard Business School in 2010.
While studying at Harvard, Chew completed a summer internship at Facebook.
After Chew joined Xiaomi a smartphone company as a chief financial officer in 2015, he rose and became the company’s international business president in 2019.
In March 2021, Chew joined ByteDance as its chief financial officer.
After Kevin A. Mayer steps down as TikTok CEO in 2021, Chew became the new CEO and has since worked with the company till date.
